John Joseph Herman II

Mr. Herman traveled extensively, especially when his journeys resulted in visiting family members.

“He was never in too big of a rush," his sister Jean Herman said. "He took his time and didn’t mind traveling alone because he loved the scenery.”

Jean Herman recalled a favorite trip in which she and her mother accompanied Mr. Herman to Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah.

When Mr. Herman was not traveling the United States, he spent time working for Boyce and Bynum Pathology Laboratories.

Before that, he prepared taxes for H&R Block until he left to spend time with his mother.

Survivors include two brothers, Carl Herman of Albuquerque, N.M., and Joel Herman of Moberly; three sisters, Mary Kay Head and Jean Herman, both of Columbia, and Jane Wilson of Fulton; 15 nieces and nephews; and 11 great-nieces and nephews.
