Patricia Margaret Love–Tate

Patricia Margaret Love-Tate of Columbia died in her home on Friday, July 30, 2010. She was 57.

She was born Nov. 17, 1952, in Little Rock, Ark., to William and Mary Love. She later moved to Columbia and attended Lee Elementary, Jefferson Junior High and Hickman High schools.

Mrs. Love-Tate retired from the U.S. Navy in 1996 and moved from Kingsland, Ga., to Columbia to be closer to her family.

She married Mark Poore in 1971 and later married Frank C. Tate III.

She was a member of both the Kings Bay Branch 248 Fleet Reserve Association and the VFW Post 8385 in St. Marys, Ga., as well as a charter member of the Women in Military Service for America Memorial Foundation in Washington, D.C.

Mrs. Love-Tate is survived by her husband, Frank; one daughter, Christina Marie Hendren of Hallsville; two stepsons, Scott Tate of Hope Valley, R.I., and Peter Tate of Somerset, Mass.; two brothers, Bob Love of Thompsonville, Ill., and Bill Love of Columbia; a half-brother, W.E. Love of Springfield; a sister, Mary Norton, of Southport, N.C., and a half-sister, Maureen Hall of St. Louis.

A sister, Barbara, and a half-brother, Thomas Love, preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. on July 30, at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W., Columbia.

Mrs. Love-Tate enjoyed spending time with her many animals. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Central Missouri Humane Society, 616 Big Bear Blvd., Columbia, MO 65202, or Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, UT 84741.
