Kenneth Lloyd Coleman

Kenneth Lloyd Coleman of Rocheport, Mo., died Monday, Sept. 20, 2010. He was 78.

Mr. Coleman was born to Howard and Mildred E. (Daly) Coleman on Nov. 30, 1931, in Boone County. He attended Huntsdale School before serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

On May 5, 1955, he married Jacqueline Sue Carlos.

Mr. Coleman was a former firefighter for the Columbia Fire Department and a carpenter with the Carpenters union, Local 1925, until his retirement. He was also a member of Huntsdale Baptist Church.

Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Coleman; a son, Danny Coleman of Rocheport; two daughters, Debbie Ricker of Columbia and Susie Sapp-Lawrence of Millersburg; two sisters, Geraldine Roberts of Columbia and Alice Mitchell of Lee's Summit; and five grandchildren.

His parents, four brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter died earlier.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24, at Parker Funeral Service, 22 N. Tenth St., Columbia. Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, 1217 Business Loop 70 W., Columbia.
