Ralph Howard Mueller

BLOOMFIELD – Ralph Howard Mueller of Bloomfield died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010. He was 71.

Mr. Mueller was born Oct. 31, 1938, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Conrad Alfred “Fritz” and Pearl Delma Buol Mueller.

In 1958, Mr. Mueller joined the Army and was discharged in 1962 as E-5 Sergeant 1st Class.

On April 23, 1977, Mr. Mueller married Barbara Sue Adkins in Virginia Beach, Va.

According to Terry Humphreys, a friend since 1974, Mr. Mueller was a sportsman who loved the outdoors. He traveled the U.S. to participate in professional fisherman tournaments and enjoyed hunting as well.

In 1992, he founded the Columbia Winnelson Company, where he mentored others whom have started their own businesses in the plumbing industry.

He was a member of Ozark Mountain Anglers, Elks Lodge in Jefferson City and the American Legion.

“He was a teacher, a mentor, and a friend,” Humphreys said.

Mr. Mueller is survived by his wife, Barbara; two sons, Michael Scott Mueller of Springfield and Mark Gerard Mueller of Hayward, Calif.; a brother, Earl Eldon Mueller of Chapin, S.C.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

His parents; one daughter, Marie, and one grandson died earlier.

An informal memorial gathering will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 6 at Tonanzio’s Cedar Creek Lodge, 8285 Missouri J in Guthrie. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, 1900 N. Providence Road, Columbia MO 65202.
