Edward Harlin Locklin

COLUMBIA — Edward Harlin Locklin of Columbia died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010. He was 83.

Mr. Locklin was born March 21, 1927, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Samuel Lorenzo and Myrtle Violet Johnson Locklin.

He served with the Navy during World War II and was stationed at Pearl Harbor. Mr. Locklin worked for McDonnell Douglas and retired as an electrical engineer.

He earned a bachelor's degree in education from North Texas State University, a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Texas and a master's degree in engineering from Drexel Institute in Philadelphia.

Mr. Locklin was a member of Missouri United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alice Riddels Locklin; four children, Kathy Locklin of Del Rio, Texas, Julie Kelly of Lancaster, Ky., Paul Locklin of Southlake, Texas, and Lydia Locklin of Columbia; and three grandchildren.

Two brothers, Charles and Howard Locklin, and a sister, Lorene Wallace, died earlier.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in McMurry Chapel, Missouri United Methodist Church, 204 S. Ninth St. Burial will be in Columbia Cemetery, 30 E. Broadway.
