COLUMBIA — Frances “Fran” Koepke of Columbia died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, at her home. She was 61.
She was born May 18, 1949, in Columbia to J.W. and Lois (Smith) Stafford.
She married Gene Koepke on Aug. 7, 1969, in Miami, Okla.
Mrs. Koepke graduated from Hickman High School in 1967 and earned a degree from Capitol Business College in Jefferson City in 1969. She worked at Lincoln University for two years and then at her family-owned Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. until she retired in 1986.
She was a member of Columbia United Church of Christ and was also active in the Tiger Quarterback Club, the Columbia Show-Me Cosmopolitan Club and the Columbia College Cougar Club.
In her spare time, Mrs. Koepke enjoyed reading, traveling, fishing and watching the Missouri Tigers and Columbia College Cougars. She loved helping others and taking care of her family.
Mrs. Koepke is survived by her husband; a son, Mark Koepke and wife, Kellie; a daughter, Laura Koepke and husband, Jeff Lentz; and a brother, John Stafford and wife, Brenda, all of Columbia.
Her parents died earlier.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
