Dewey Franklin Stevens

Dewey Franklin Stevens was a hard worker and always on the go, but he made time for his grandchildren as much as possible.
Mr. Stevens enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his wife, Glenda, said what stood out most to her was the joy he had for his four grandchildren. She said she remembers how he took them fishing at the pond as often as possible.
"He was always doing something for his grandchildren," she said. "Just doing things for and with them."
Mr. Stevens of Sturgeon died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011. He was 65.
He was born Dec. 6, 1945, in New York to Delba Cleveland and Dorothy M. Fonner Stevens.
His wife said he was going to retire this summer from his job refurbishing mobile homes to spend more time hunting, fishing and playing with his grand-children.
Mr. Stevens is survived by his wife; a son, Stephen Munford of Modesto, Calif.; a daughter, Robin Renee Johnson of Ashland; a sister, Dorothy Scott Kennedy of New York; a brother, Roger Stevens of Columbia; and four grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew, Michael and Kaitlyn Serino.
Services will be held at a later date.
