Mary Hovey

Mary Hovey of Columbia died Monday, Feb. 14, 2011. She was 55.
She was born May 12, 1955, in Albuquerque, N.M., to Clement and Francis Miller Boucher.
She married Dean Burnam on Sept. 14, 1991, and he died in 1996. She later married longtime friend and companion Thomas Hovey on March 17, 2006.
Mrs. Hovey was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars, for which she was a former president and received the President of the Year Award. She was an active volunteer at Truman Veterans Hospital.
She loved to take road trips and fish in Canada with her husband.
She was a great cook and enjoyed all types of crafts, including knitting, painting, and woodwork, which she would display and sell at local craft stores.
Mrs. Hovey is survived by her husband; a daughter, Julie M. Boucher; a son, Barnard R. Boucher; father, Clement Boucher; a brother, Pete Boucher and wife Kathy; two nephews, Brandon and Corey Boucher; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Her mother died earlier.
Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. Feb. 22 at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W.
A private graveside service will follow at Jacksonville Veterans Cemetery.
