Nellie Irene Palmer
Nellie Irene Palmer of Columbia died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at her home. She was 87.
She was born April 24, 1923, to Will and Lula Calvert in Cooper County.
She married James William Palmer on April 13, 1940.
Mrs. Palmer is survived by two sons, Ronald Palmer and his wife, Fay, and Jerry Palmer and his wife, Susie; two daughters, Ruth Ann Rice and Karen Super Carter; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, James Palmer; a son, Larry E. Palmer; a daughter, Sharon Kay Palmer; and a granddaughter, Sherry Palmer, died earlier.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Parker Funeral Service, 22 N. Tenth St. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Dennis Swearngin. Burial will be at Columbia Cemetery.
