Elizabeth Joan Kennedy

HALLSVILLE — Elizabeth Joan Kennedy lived for family.

Family dinners were a weekly habit for Mrs. Kennedy and her family, said her daughter Lisa Gingerich.

"Once you became a part of her life, you never got to leave," Gingerich said. "No matter what happened during the week, you always go to dinner."

"She loved family and going to auctions," said her daughter Rita Estes. "She was always looking for deals."

Mrs. Kennedy's competitive streak made her a "pretty feisty bidder at auctions," Gingerich said. "She was just a special person."
