Clifford N. Penserum
Clifford N. Penserum of Columbia died at University Hospital on Monday, March 14, 2011. He was 62.
Mr. Penserum was born Aug. 11, 1948, in Washington, Mo., to Charles R. and Catherine (Beck) Penserum. He served in the Army from 1967 to 1976, fought in Vietnam as a helicopter door gunman with the 25th Infantry and was a life member of Disabled American Veterans. He was also a member of the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church and was re-baptized in 2009.
Mr. Penserum married Nancy E. Hardy on Dec. 31, 1988, in Columbia.
Mr. Penserum is survived by his wife, Nancy; two sons, Jerome Starke of Kansas City and Jonathan Starke of Fort Collins, Colo.; two daughters, Jennifer Lawton of Hermann and Myra Beth Lovelace of Columbia; three brothers, Charles Ray Penserum of Belle, Lawrence Penserum of Berger and Van Penserum of Jefferson City; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Parker Funeral Service, 22 N. Tenth St., and graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Columbia Cemetery, 30 E. Broadway. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Missouri Food Bank, 2101 Vandiver Drive, Columbia, MO 65202.
