Emma Ethel Vogt

Emma Ethel Vogt of Forest City, Iowa, died Friday, March 18, 2011. She was 87.

Ms. Vogt was born Sept. 15, 1923, in St. Louis to Michael and Julia (Harangozo) Vogt. She married Anthony Messina at the beginning of World War II, and the couple lived in St. Louis. In the late 1970s, Ms. Vogt remarried and moved to Forest City, Iowa.

Ms. Vogt is survived by a daughter, Toni Messina, and her husband, Rich Tiemeyer, of Columbia; a sister-in-law, Lillian Vogt; two nieces, Shelly Quint and Carole Cloer; and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Her former husband, Anthony Messina, and a brother, Michael Vogt, died earlier.

A memorial will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home, 505 N. Clark St. in Forest City.
