Carson Russell
COLUMBIA — Carson Russell of Columbia died Monday, March 21, 2011. He was 89.
Mr. Russell was born on Oct. 6, 1921, in Iron County to Hubert and Sarah Keesling Russell.
He married his wife, Helen (Reed) Russell, in Des Arc on Oct. 10, 1943. The two had six children.
Mr. Russel spent much of his time with his family and working on the farm. He was an active member of his church as well.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Russell; five sons, Wayne Russell of Harrisburg, J.D. Russell of Tokyo, Mike Russell of Columbia, Denny Russell of Columbia and Larry Shuck of Columbia; a daughter, Shirley Parsons of Clark; three sisters, Sarah Clark of Kirksville, Marie Sloas of St. Louis and Caroline Goings of St. Louis; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Russell's three brothers, Howard Russell, Bob Russell and Lawrence Russell, died earlier.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W., in Columbia. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the same location.
