COLUMBIA — Connie S. Bush was a devoted librarian who also loved the Missouri Tigers, Marilyn McLeod, her friend and co-worker, said.

"She was an avid MU football fan and would plan her fall weekends around those games," McLeod said.

Mrs. Bush of Columbia died Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at University Hospital. She was 63.

Mrs. Bush was born Oct. 22, 1947, to Jeremiah and Lorene Tarrant Adams in Venda, Kan.

Mrs. Bush married Stephen Bush on April 9, 1983 in Fulton.

Mrs. Bush taught first and second grade Sunday school for many years at the Southside Baptist Church, where she was a member.

She dedicated 40 years to working at the Fulton and Columbia Public Libraries.

"Connie was such a thoughtful person," McLeod said. "She would put little gifts to everyone in the staff's mailboxes at Christmas."

Mrs. Bush would often find gifts on her bargain shopping trips, McLeod said. "She could find incredible things.

"She was devoted to her family and delighted in her nephews."

Mrs. Bush is survived by her husband, Stephen Bush; two brothers, Jerry Adams and his wife, Belinda, of Peculiar, and Bill Adams of Kansas City; and four nephews.

Mrs. Bush’s parents died earlier.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of services. The burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 11, in Memorial Park Cemetery.
