Cheryl K. Kroha

Cheryl K. Kroha of Columbia died Sunday, April 17, 2011. She was 63.

She was born January 7, 1948, in Columbia to Denton and Louise Ott Toalson.

She worked for thirteen years as bookkeeper for the city of Columbia, and later worked as a caregiver with Visiting Nurses, now Boone Hospital Home Care.

"Because of her always caring, being so nice and genuine, you couldn't help but know her on a personal level," said Linda Overstreet, Ms. Kroha's supervisor at Boone Hospital Home Care. "She truly cared how people were, and she was truly saddened if you were having a bad day."

Ms. Kroha was incredibly dedicated to her patients, Overstreet said.

"She had a patient one time that had virtually nothing. Every week she brought that person a milkshake. They couldn't afford one and had no car," she added.

Ms. Kroha enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Tyler, and was a member of Grace Bible Church.

Ms. Kroha is survived by her husband, Jason; a daughter, Stephanie Kroha Jennings of New Franklin; a sister, Rhonda Weatherspoon, and her husband, Kevin, of Hallsville; a grandson, Tyler Jennings of New Franklin; two nieces, Jenny Greene and Amanda Weatherspoon; a nephew, Justin Weatherspoon; a special cousin, Kathy Neal and her husband Dennis Goettel of Columbia; and a special friend, Sandi Turner Jorde of Arizona.
