Ken Vandeloecht of Hallsville died of cancer Thursday, April 21, 2011. He was 72.
Mr. Vandeloecht was born on Aug. 12, 1938, in Steedman to Russell and Leota (Payne) Vandeloecht.
Mr. Vandeloecht was a singer and performed across the U.S. He enjoyed staying at home, where he was surrounded by the woods. In retirement, Mr. Vandeloecht stayed busy by moving cars for University Chrysler.
Mr. Vandeloecht is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sue Vandeloecht; a son, Scott Vandeloecht; a daughter-in-law, Kristi Lundgren; a sister, Helen Snodgrass; a brother, Vernon Vandeloecht; a sister-in-law, Glenda Vandeloecht; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Vandeloecht's young daughter, Tammy; a brother, Walter Vandeloecht; and a sister, Dottie Wheeler, died earlier.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hallsville United Methodist Church, 11700 N. Route B, in Hallsville. Memorial Service is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
