Dorothy M. Jacob

COLUMBIA — Dorothy M. Jacob of Columbia died Wednesday, April 27, 2011.

She was born to George Frank and Hazel (Wall) Mansur.

She married Roy Lee Jacob in 1947.

Mrs. Jacob worked at Boone County National Bank for 68 years. In 1951, she became the first female bank officer in Boone County. Her family said helping customers always brought her great satisfaction.The bank established the Dorothy Jacob Legendary Service Award in her honor. During the bank's 150th anniversary celebration, she was named Employee of the Sesquicentennial.

"She was just a wonderful person in every way," said Carolyn Jacob, who is the wife of Mrs. Jacob's brother-in-law, James R. Jacob

"All of my children were very fond of Dorothy."

Mrs. Jacob is survived by her daughter, Cande Iveson and her husband, Todd, of Columbia; a brother, George Frank Mansur Jr. and his wife, Mary Lu, of Columbia; two grandchildren, Christopher and Jessica; a brother-in-law, James R. Jacob and his wife, Carolyn; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Itschner and Judy Creasy; and many nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Roy Lee Jacob, died in 1978. They had been married for more than 30 years.

Services celebrating Mrs. Jacob's life will be at *2:30 p.m. May 8 at the Unitarian Universal Church, 2615 Shepard Blvd.
