Dolores LaVonne Heizelman
Dolores LaVonne Heizelman of Columbia died Saturday, May 21, 2011. She was 81.
Mrs. Heizelman was born Oct. 20, 1929, in Northwood, Iowa, to Albert Edward and Helen Grace (Clayton) Miller.
She married Donald Ray Heizelman in 1953.
Mrs. Heizelman, who was known as "Dodie" to her family, loved to bowl, play bingo, dance and sing. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Columbia. She worked with her daughter providing childcare for 22 years.
Mrs. Heizelman is survived by a daughter, Debra Purvis and husband, Jim, of Columbia; a sister, Margaret Eske of Buffalo, Mo.; a brother, Roger E. "Bud" Miller of Belleview, Neb.; three grandchildren, David, Darin and DeAna Grant; four great-grandchildren, Brittany, Joseph, Gracen and David; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, sister Avis Sherrard, and grandson Timothy died earlier.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Liberty Baptist Church, 7461 N. Brown Station Road in Columbia.
