Fannie Gertrude Miller

COLUMBIA — Fannie Gertrude Miller of Millersburg died Friday, Sept. 16, 2011. She was 95.

She was born Jan. 20, 1916 in Boone County to Charles and Katie Lee (Karney) McKinzie.

Mrs. Miller married Raymond Miller on Oct. 6, 1934. Mr. and Mrs. Miller lived on a farm in Millersburg, where Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and employee of Eastgate Laundry for several years.

She was a longtime member of Millersburg Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting, sewing and spending time with her family. Mrs. Miller also was recognized as one of the Grand Marshals in the 2011 Millersburg Parade.

Mrs. Miller is survived by her two daughters, Mary Smith and her husband, Russ, and Katie Dawson and her husband, Will, both of Fulton; one sister, Alma Bea Allen of Victoria, Texas; four grandchildren, Dale Dawson, Raymond Smith and John Dawson, all of Fulton, and Kathy Gilman of Auxvasse; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Miller's husband, Raymond Miller, sister, Altha O'Neal, and two nephews died earlier.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W.

Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Robert Frey will conduct the service. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, located at the same address.
