James Otis Williams
COLUMBIA - James Otis Williams of Columbia died Monday, Oct. 17, 2011. He was 62.
Mr. Williams was born Dec. 25, 1948, in Columbia to George and Ethel Mae (Warren) Williams.
Mr. Williams was a very loving man who enjoyed taking walks, singing and sharing his testimony at church on Sundays.
Part of his favorite passage, Psalm 31:1-5 read, "Into your hands I commit my spirit; deliver me Lord, my faithful God."
Mr. Williams is survived by his siblings, Leutenus Williams, Lula Mae Kemp, Georgia Rose Redden, Mildred I. Rena Wright, John Williams, Edward Williams, Betty Ann Butler and George Vincent Williams; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
His parents and two siblings, Mary L. Williams and Ruth Powell, died earlier.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday at Sugar Grove Missionary Baptist Church on the corner of East Sugar Grove Road and South Rolling Hills Road outside of Columbia followed by a service at the church.
