Franklin Edward Daly
Franklin Edward Daly of Hallsville died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, of cancer. He was 61.
He was born May 5, 1950, in Columbia to Ralph and Lois Sappington Daly.
He graduated in 1968 from Hallsville High School.
Mr. Daly, a Vietnam veteran who served with the Army from 1969 to 1971, worked for UPS for more than 30 years as a package and tractor trailer driver. He also owned Ed’s Quik Stop in Hallsville for more than 30 years. During retirement, he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, lawn work and visiting with friends. He was an avid Missouri Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
He married Rhonda Wilkins in 1972.
Mr. Daly is survived by his wife; his father, Ralph Everett Daly, of Columbia; two sons, Scott Farrell Daly of Centralia and Keith Russell Daly of Dallas; a brother, Larry Daly, of Columbia; three sisters, Linda Pointer of Eudora, Kan., Sally Culwell of Columbia and Sarah Bradshaw of Columbia; three grandchildren; and an aunt, Vera Parsons, of Columbia.
His mother died earlier.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel, 1610 N. Garth Ave. Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Red Top Christian Church, 14355 Route U in Hallsville. Burial will follow at Red Top Cemetery.
