Mary Ann Bishop was known for kindness to others
COLUMBIA — Mary Ann Bishop died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at her home. She was 79.
She was born April 9, 1932, in Jackson County to James and Helen (Robinson) Rust.
Mrs. Bishop lived with her son, John Bishop, in her final months. He said she touched the lives of many people with her kindness and generosity throughout her life.
Mrs. Bishop moved to Columbia from Sedalia a year and a half ago, leaving most of her friends and other family members, her son said.
Mrs. Bishop is survived by a daughter, Josephine Kriesel; five sons, John Bishop, Roger Bishop, David Bishop, Chester Bishop and Charles Bishop; a sister, Juanita MacArthur; a brother, Robert Rust; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel, 1610 N. Garth Ave.
