Charles Strayhall

Dr. Charles Strayhall of Columbia died Tuesday, April 29, 2008. He was 87.
He was born Feb. 22, 1921, in Marceline to Joseph and Mary Poshek Strayhall.
He married Wilda Lea Wall on July 15, 1942.
Dr. Strayhall graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in 1953 and opened a practice in Lebanon. He moved to Columbia in 1967 and practiced optometry until he retired in 1992.
Dr. Strayhall was a member of Broadway Christian Church, where he served as a deacon and elder, for 35 years. He was also an avid fisherman and quail hunter.
Dr. Strayhall is survived by his wife; one son, Charles Strayhall Jr.; one daughter, Deborah Strayhall; one sister, Frances Bowser of Middlebury, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Broadway Christian Church, 2601 W. Broadway.
