Fairview Elementary promotes learning and personal growth in a variety of ways.
Fairview understands the importance of building a sense of community in order to create an environment that is conducive to learning, school officials say.
Principal Ben Tilley says parental involvement is a necessary component in creating this type of atmosphere, and that the school tries to get parents involved in many different aspects of their children’s education. Fairview has 100 percent attendance in parent-teacher conferences and a strong showing at PTA meetings, he said.
The school also keeps its students and parents active by holding many different events keeping them involved with the school such as a multicultural night, Fairview Fever Festival, and a read-a-thon. Fairview also participates in The Adventure Club, which provides before- and after-school activities for children including theater, recreation, and sports.
