Good Shepherd Lutheran School opened in 2002 as an association of the Campus Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran churches. The school has grown from eight students in its first year to 89.

Good Shepherd Lutheran School started as an outreach ministry of two Columbia Lutheran congregations: Campus Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Church. Both congregations are members of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
These two congregations formed the Columbia Lutheran Association of Schools to bring a new Lutheran school to mid-Missouri. The school opened in 2002 with eight students in grades one to three. The school now offers kindergarten through eighth grade and enrollment is 89 students.
The school's maximum class size is 24 students; classes begin at 8:15 a.m. and dismiss at 3:30 p.m.
A basketball program is offered to students in grades 5 to 8.
