The questions surrounding Missouri basketball recruit Linas Kleiza have been put to rest.
Kleiza, the marquee name in the Tigers’ 2003 recruiting class, has arrived on the MU campus and has registered for classes, Associate Athletic Director Sam Fleury confirmed Monday.
Kleiza orally committed to the Tigers in May, months after the late signing period had ended. Because he did not sign a national letter of intent, he was not bound to Missouri. Despite that, Fleury confirmed that Kleiza, a Lithuanian power forward, has chosen to remain with the Tigers and arrived in Columbia on Friday.
Kleiza averaged 20.5 points and 12.2 rebounds last season with Montrose Christian School, a powerhouse in Rockville, Md. He starred for his native country in July’s World Junior Championships in Greece, leading all scorers with 29.1 points per game and leading Lithuania to a second-place finish.
Fleury also confirmed that the rest of the class (guards Spencer Laurie, Thomas Gardner, and junior college transfer Randy Pulley) is on campus and has registered for classes.
