Sheriff hopes to find good Samaritans

After an attempted abduction of a 45-year-old woman Friday morning, the Boone County Sheriff’s Department wants to talk to a man and woman who might have helped change a tire for the victim.

The woman was waiting for help in changing a flat tire on her way to work Friday when a man approached her in his vehicle, said Boone County Capt. Kevin Merritt. The man approached her in his car, offered a ride and tried to drag her into his black pickup truck with tinted windows, he said.

Deputies described the suspect as a white male with dark, shoulder-length, greasy hair, a dark complexion and decaying teeth, who had scars and acne on his face. The suspect also has a tattoo on his right forearm and hand.

The woman told deputies the couple who helped her after the incident are white, middle-aged or older and drove a red car. Anyone with information is asked to call the Boone County Sheriff’s Department at 875-1111.
