Bret Burchard scored 18 points to lead the Kewpies to a 80-50 victory against Cruthersville in a first-round game at the Poplar Bluff tournament. Taylor Trogdon scored 14 and Mikel Fields had 13.
Hickman (4-4) plays Parkview from Little Rock, Ark., in the semifinals at 8:30 p.m. today.
Hickman coach Jim Sutherland said his team played well from start to finish.
“We came out quickly and shot the ball well, and that always helps,” Sutherland said.
