Kewps wrestlers fall

The Hickman wrestling team lost 51-15 at Kearney on Thursday.

Three Kewpies earned victories. Tony Pescaglia (112 pounds) won by default, Corry Skala (125) won by decision and Luke Harper (275) won by a fall.

COLUMBIA COLLEGE MEN’S BASKETBALL: The Cougars lost 73-65 at McKendree College in Lebanon, Ill., ending a 17-game winning streak.

The Cougars (20-2, 1-1) pulled within six points twice in the second half, but got no closer. The Bearcats (15-5, 3-0) shot 59 percent.

The Cougars trailed 36-22 at half.

“We dug ourselves a hole in the first half and fought back, but just couldn’t get over the hump,” Cougars coach Bob Burchard said.
