The Missouri women’s golf team lost a playoff to Kansas State at the Texas A&M Mo’morial Invitational in College Station.
Both teams finished their final rounds with scores of 909 before the Wildcats won the playoff hole with a birdie.
Maria Ohlsson led MU, for she finished tied for second at 221. Denise Knaebel shot a 226 and finished in a tie for 10th.
MU MEN’S GOLF: The Tigers finished sixth at the Roadrunner Intercollegiate in San Antonio with a 292 and finished a stroke behind Rice. Sophomore Ben Scott led the Tigers with a final-round 72, and he finished tied for 11th. Freshman John Kelly was 17th after shooting a 75.
MU WRESTLING: Kenny Burleson and Ben Askren were selected to the Big 12 All-Academic team. This is the fourth time Burleson, a senior, earned the honor. Askren, a redshirt freshman, was named to the team for the first time. Student-athletes must have at least a 3.20 grade point average to qualify.
COLUMBIA COLLEGE SOFTBALL: The Cougars were swept at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg. Columbia, which is ranked No. 13 in the NAIA, lost 3-1 and 3-0. Monica Mueller (2-1) and Kerri Gapka (1-2) lost. Krista Viefhaus led the Cougars with four hits. The Cougars drop to 3-3.
