More National Guard members are being deployed to active duty, but they’re not going to Iraq.

Three units of the Missouri National Guard, totaling about 170 soldiers, will be deployed this weekend to various locations in the United States.

The 128th Field Artillery Battalion of Columbia deploys today for Fort Lewis, Wash. The deployment will be preceded by ceremonies at 10 a.m. at the Missouri National Guard Armory, 5151 N. Roger Wilson Drive.

The battalion will eventually be protecting forces and performing oversight missions at Dugway Proving Ground in Utah.

Also deploying today, Sedalia’s 135th Field Artillery Brigade will report to Fort Sam Houston, Texas, after ceremonies at 10 a.m. at the Missouri National Guard Armory at the State Fairgrounds, 2001 Claredon Road, Sedalia.

The 129th Field Artillery Battalion of Maryville deployed Saturday for Fort Riley, Kan.
