Hickman starts with shutout

The Hickman boys’ tennis team started its season by winning at district opponent Rolla 9-0 on Thursday.

Hickman’s Nate Bohon, Kyle King and Sean Schofield won their singles matches in straight sets. Bohon teamed up with Erich Chen for one of the Kewpies’ three doubles wins. Omeed Latifi, Zach Coble and Greg Anderson added wins for the Kewpies.

HICKMAN BOYS’ GOLF: Rockhurst shot a 303 to win its triangular meet against the Kewpies and Blue Springs South at Leahwood South Country Club. D.J. Chung shot a 76 and Josh Brady shot a 77 to lead the Kewpies.

Hickman shot a 318 to tie Blue Springs South. Rockhurst’s Chad Dobbs shot a 71 to make par and finish as the meet’s medalist.

ROCK BRIDGE/HICKMAN GOLF: The Bruins shot a 156 to win their quadrangular meet against Hickman, Mexico and Montgomery County on Wednesday at Arthur Hills Golf Course.

Rock Bridge’s Ben Lake and Hickman’s Josh Brady shot a 37 and finished as the meet’s co-medalists.
