The Discovery Expedition of St. Charles: Lewis and Clark Re-enactment

Lewis and Clark in Flat Branch Park: Music, dancing, exhibits and hands-on activities related to the Lewis and Clark expedition in conjunction with the downtown Twilight Festival.

Discovery Expedition — The group re-enacting the Lewis and Clark exhibition by boating up the Missouri River plans to spend the evening at Cooper’s Landing.

Details: The expedition is scheduled to be at festivals in Huntsdale on Saturday and on Sunday in Rocheport.

Lewis and Clark DiscoverFest opens in Boonville. Dianne Moran portrays Sacagawea at 12:30 p.m. at the Hain House followed by a community art and flower show. Downtown activities include beer garden, historic building tours, other events and venues.

Details: Noon Friday, Hain House, 412 4th St., Boonville.

Rocheport River Days includes events such as a Lewis and Clark Art Exhibit by Gary Lucy and the Missouri River Communities Expedition Outpost.

Details: 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Free, $3 parking at the city park, Tamara Campbell at 698-3207.

Huntsdale Lewis and Clark River Festival, including rendezvous camp with 11 re-enactors and the state of Missouri exhibit of “Lewis and Clark Across Missouri.”

Details: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m.; tickets are $6 in advance and $8 on Saturday, contact Mayor Debby Lancaster at 445-4155.

Lewis and Clark DiscoverFest continues at Boonville with a parade at 10 a.m. Saturday on Main Street, free entertainment at the Hain House from noon to 5 p.m., a sketchbook journal workshop from 2 to 4 p.m. at Turner Hall, a street dance from 9 to 11:30 p.m. on Morgan Street along with other events and activities.

Discovery String Band — Lewis and Clark: A Musical Voyage of Discovery at the Missouri Theatre.

Details: doors open 7 p.m. Saturday; concert at 8 p.m., $10 in advance; $12 at the door.

Matthew “Sitting Bear” Jones, professor at the University of Nebraska, will discuss the journal entries about the Otoe-Missouria tribe from Meriwether Lewis and William Clark during their 1804-1806 expedition.

Rocheport River Days activities include the Corps of Discovery re-enactors and Jim Denny’s slide show and book signing.

Details: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Bluegrass on the Bluff concert begins at 4 p.m. (tickets required). Potluck dinner with Corps of Discovery re-enactors from 6 to 8 p.m. Contact Tamara Campbell, 698-3207.

Huntsdale Lewis and Clark River Festival activities include Native American jewelry and a period teepee.

Lewis and Clark DiscoverFest continues in Boonville with dedication of Hannah Cole Statue at 3 p.m. at Morgan Street Park, a concert at 5 p.m. in Nelson Methodist Church and live, outdoor music from 7 p.m. to dusk at Harley Park followed by a fireworks display.

Discovery Expedition arrives at noon at Interstate Marine Terminal at Boonville, where the expedition will establish their overnight camp. Public invited to campsite to visit with re-enactors from 1 to 7:00 p.m. Monday.

Missouri River Youth Theater presents “Lewis and Clark: Bicentennial of Discovery”

Details: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Thespian Hall, Boonville. Free admission with canned food donation.
