For that beautiful complexion that you have always wanted, you don’t even have to leave your house.
Homemade beauty recipes such as face masks, scrubs and face packs can be mixed from ingredients that can be found in the kitchen cabinet or refrigerator. The added bonuses: You get rid of leftovers without wasting them and the homemade remedies cost a lot less than brand name products.
Faye Heidari, a Clinique Cosmetics supervisor, said she has never used a home beauty remedy on her face but has used it on her hair.
“I have used eggs on my hair before and beer,” said Heidari. “I used it to make my hair shine.”
Before executing any of the home remedies listed to the right, first wash your face with warm water to open up your pores. Afterward, rinse with cold water to close the pores to protect from outside dirt and grime.
Of course, none of these remedies work like magic and will not cure wrinkles or scars after one use. But there are some other preventative things that you can do.
To help tighten the skin, massages and facials help blood flow in the face, which reduces the possibility of wrinkles or reduces their appearance.
Exfoliating is also very important for the skin, but too much can prove to be damaging to skin cells. Exfoliating twice a week to get rid of dead skin cells will help improve the look and feel of the skin. Also, even though it may be very late at night and you are too tired, try to wash your face every night. The pores of the skin get blocked with several pollutants from the air and can cause buildup inside the pores. Removing old makeup is also important to avoid the blockage of pores.
For the entire body, there are other things you can do to take the best care of your skin. Before you shower, use a natural bristle body brush to exfoliate dead skin cells, just like with the face.
After the shower, apply a body lotion. This, in combination with the water from the shower, a natural hydrant, will help your skin to be smooth and healthy all over.
