Boone County Federated Republican Women’s Club
Description: The Federated Republican Women’s Club is affiliated with the Missouri Federation of Republican Women and is the largest Republi-can Women’s Club in the state. The club has been active since the 1930s and has about 125 members. It organizes the annual Boone County Lincoln Day Dinner.

Boone County Women’s Democratic Club
Description: The Women’s Democratic Club is active locally and regionally. From now until the November elections, the group will focus on fund-raising and voter registration. It will also play host to guest speakers. The group discusses pending legislation and other issues affecting the com-munity.

Capital Women’s Political Caucus
Description: The caucus was recently reactivated and has chapters in Kansas City, St. Louis and Jefferson City. Chapters are affiliated with the state and national Women’s Political Caucus. It recruits and supports progressive female candidates.

Columbia-Boone County League of Women Voters
Description: The league seeks to influence public policy through education and advocacy. The league is a grass-roots citizen
network, directed by the consensus of its members across the country. It is nonpartisan and does not support or oppose candidates at any level. Membership is open to men and women of voting age.

ERA Campaign Missouri
Description: ERA Campaign Missouri is a nonpartisan task force of the Missouri Women’s Network. Its goal is to elect officials who will support passage of the Equal Rights Amendment and other issues important to most women. The organization is involved in the political process as a political action committee and endorses progressive candidates. It seeks to establish local affiliates throughout Missouri.

Missouri Women’s Leadership Coalition
Description: Missouri Women’s Leadership Coalition is a nonpartisan progressive group that provides candidate training for women running for public office and training for women wishing to become involved in the political process. The coalition is also involved in issue advocacy.

Missouri Women’s Network
Description: The Missouri Women’s Network is a coalition of about 50 women’s organizations and works to further women’s rights in Missouri. It also provides individual memberships. The network was founded in the 1980s and grew out of the organizations in the Equal Rights Amendment Coalition. When the ERA was not ratified in 1982, these organizations founded the network.

Sue Shear Institute for Women in Public Life
Description: The institute is a nonpartisan educational organization out of the University of Missouri-Kansas City and University of Missouri-St. Louis. Its goal is to promote the education and involvement of women in policy-related fields. It offers campaign schools for female candidates.
