New Jazz offers Cajun-Creole fare

Migrating north from the land of Mardi Gras, the flavor of Louisiana Cajun Creole has hit Columbia.

Jazz, a Louisiana Kitchen opened Dec. 14 and serves a variety of authentic New Orleans French Quarter favorites, including gumbo, jambalaya and house specialty, Chicken A La Mer.

This is the sixth Jazz restaurant; there are three in the Kansas City area and two in Texas.

Jazz not only offers Louisiana-style cuisine, but also New Orleans-style music with an elevated stage that will accommodate jazz bands on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

Jazz, a Louisiana Kitchen is in the Chapel Hill Market Square off Chapel Hill Road in Columbia and is open 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to midnight on Sunday.
