Martha Burk, author of “Cult of Power,” will speak about women’s progress to positions of power at 7 p.m. Thursday in Stephens College’s Windsor Auditorium, 1405 E. Broadway.
A book signing will follow the lecture. The event is free and open to the public.
Burk, a psychologist and expert on women’s equity, is the president and co-founder of the Center for Advancement of Public Policy and chairwoman of the National Council of Women’s Organizations.
“Cult of Power” recounts the 2002 debate about the all-male membership of the Augusta National Golf Club and expands the discussion to the culture of other corporations.
Burk’s speech will mark the end of Women in Politics and Business Week at Stephens.
