The Missouri women’s golf team will try to finish the regular season well today and Monday in the Susie Maxwell Berning Golf Classic in Norman, Okla.

It will be the No. 16 Tigers’ final tune-up before the Big 12 Conference Tournament on April 22-24 in Austin, Texas. With five other Big 12 teams at the tournament in Norman, the Tigers should know what to expect in two weeks.

Coach Stephanie Cooper says it is important for the Tigers to stay patient and trust their swings if they want to be successful.

Kelli Strubinger, Maria Ohlsson, Mindy Bullard, Denise Knaebel and Stephanie Wavro will compete in the team competition for the Tigers and Madde Augustsson will compete individually.

One reason for the improvement has been the improvement of Kelli Strubinger. After not qualifying for the team’s first tournament in the fall, she has come back to lead the team in scoring average this spring. She has finished in the top 25 in all three spring tournaments, highlighted by a ninth-place finish in the Central District Tournament.
