In case an upset loss to archrival Kansas wasn’t enough, Missouri senior safety Jason Simpson left Lawrence, Kan., Saturday with another reason for pain.
Simpson said Monday he broke the fourth finger of his left hand in the fourth quarter of the Tigers’ 13-3 loss to the Jayhawks. The injured hand was in a cast and will remain so for three weeks, but Simpson said the injury wouldn’t keep him out or hinder his ability.
“It was a clean break, but I’ll play,” he said.
Simpson said he felt so much pain after making a tackle early in the final quarter that he couldn’t easily take off his gloves. He continued to play, however.
