MU WOMEN’S SOCCER: The Missouri women’s soccer team was eliminated from the Big 12 Tournament, falling 3-1 to Texas A&M in the first round Wednesday in San Antonio.
Senior Jennifer Nobis scored on assists from fellow seniors Erica Pusch and Amber Swinehart to pull within 2-1 in the second half.
But the Tigers’ attempt at a late comeback stalled when Kat Krambeer scored Texas A&M’s third goal.
Missouri goalkeeper Laura Buehrig had 8 saves.
Missouri will find out Monday whether it will earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Seven Tigers soccer players received Academic All-Big 12 Conference honors.
Pusch, Kira Reyes, Lauren Grice, Meggie Malm, and Buehrig all received first team honors for maintaining a 3.20 or better GPA.
Swinehart and Aria Hudetz were named to the second team by maintaining a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
MU GOLF: The Tigers tied for eighth-place with Oregon and Notre Dame at the three-day Las Vegas Showdown after shooting 292 in Wednesday’s final round.
Missouri’s Stephanie Wavro shot a career-best 1-under 71 to tie for 24th. Her 54-hole total of 220 was also a career-best.
Denise Munzlinger shot 1-over to tie for 35th, while Madde Augustsson was to tie for 38th.
Kelli Strubinger’s three-day 225 earned a tie for 43rd, and Chelsea Schriewer shot her third-straght 77 to tie for 55th.
It was Missouri’s second best round of the fall season which will conclude for the Tigers at the Hooters Collegiate Match Play Tournament on Nov. 11-13 in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
