Woman accused of knifing boyfriend

A 40-year-old Columbia woman was arrested Wednesday on charges in connection with an knife attack on her boyfriend.

Police said Ramona S. Gichuhi, 40, was charged with two counts of second-degree domestic assault and taken to Boone County Jail.

The victim, 50, suffered non-life-threatening knife wounds to the forehead and foot but refused medical treatment.

The incident occurred about 7 a.m. at the residence shared by the couple at 2707 Quail Drive.

Second-degree domestic assault is a Class C felony, punishable by up to seven years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
