Missouri bats quiet as Tigers fall to Buckeyes

The Missouri baseball team fell to Ohio State 4-2 in the final game of the Pepsi Baseball Classic on Sunday in Gainesville, Florida. Missouri batters had four hits and struck out 10 times. Freshman pitcher Aaron Crow struck out six and walked two in his first loss as a Tiger. Missouri finished the tournament 2-1. The Tigers (5-4) return to Columbia for their home opener against Illinois State on Wednesday.

MU SOFTBALL: The Tigers’ game against No. 13 Arizona State, their third and final game of the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Ga., was cancelled because of rain on Sunday after being postponed Saturday. The No. 24 Tigers lost both their games in the first day of the tournament, falling 3-0 to No. 23 North Carolina and 2-0 to No. 17 Auburn.

Missouri plays Wichita State in Wichita, Kan. on Wednesday.

COLUMBIA COLLEGE BASKETBALL: The Cougars begin the American Midwest Conference Tournament quarterfinals this week.

The No. 2 women’s team (17-12, 11-3) plays No. 7 Illinois-Springfield at 7 p.m. today at home.

The No. 2 men’s team (23-7, 9-3) plays No. 7 Wil­liams Baptist College at 7 p.m. Tuesday at home.
