The Columbia College softball team continued its hot streak in Arizona on Thursday at the Tuscon Invitational, winning two games to push its winning streak to 11.
In their first game, the Cougars won a defensive struggle 1-0 against Patten. Pitcher Heather Robey had seven strikeouts and gave up four hits in the victory. The Cougars run came from an RBI from Perrigo who went 1-for-3 at the plate.
The Cougars mustered much more offense in their second game, shutting down St. Olaf 8-0 in five innings. Lindsey Williams went 3-for-3 with two runs, two stolen bases and an RBI. Sarah Moreau and Ashley Perrigo each had two hits, two RBIs and scored two runs.
Pitcher Kendra Koch had a career-high 10 strikeouts and gave up two hits and one walk.
Columbia College improved to 17-10.
ROCK BRIDGE GIRLS’ SOCCER: The Bruins’ game Thursday against Fort Zumwalt South was postponed because of bad weather. It has been rescheduled for May 10.
