Hickman 10, Owensville 4

The Hickman baseball team defeated Owensville 10-4 on Friday night in the Sells Development/Red Weir Classic Tournament.

In his first trip to the plate, first baseman Casey McIntosh hit deep into left center field, bouncing the ball against the wall for a stand-up RBI double in the first inning. That hit put Hickman up 1-0.

The next time up, McIntosh hit a three-run home run to the same spot.

The defense also played well. In the second inning, shortstop Colin Kemble faked a throw to first base and then threw to James Hudelson at third to gun out the surprised runner.

Hudelson also made an excellent defensive play on a bunt in the fourth inning. In one smooth motion, he scooped up the ball and threw the runner out at first.
