A 17-year-old Madison man was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound in a Moberly residence Monday night, according to a news release issued by the Moberly Police Department.
A 19-year-old Moberly man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder and armed criminal action, the release said. He is being held on a $1 million bond.
After responding to a 911 call in the 800 block of West Rollins Street in Moberly, police found the victim dead, the release said
Moberly Police Sgt. Kevin Palmatory said at least two witnesses have been cooperating with police.
Details surrounding the incident, including a motive and names of the arrested man and victim, have not been released. Once investigators finish interviewing witnesses and receive autopsy results, Moberly police will file a probable cause statement and formal charges, Palmatory said.
The arrested man remained in custody Monday in the Moberly city jail, the release said.
