The Hickman girls’ soccer team defeated host Smith-Cotton 3-0 on Monday. The Kewpies (10-5-4) scored all three of their goals in the second half.
Sophomore Amanda Sudduth had two goals, on assists from seniors Kim Foster and Brittany Sharp. Foster scored the other goal assisted by Sudduth. Senior goalie Bess Frissell-Durley had the shutout.
The Kewpies next face Rock Bridge in a make-up game tonight at 7 p.m. at Walton Stadium.
MU MEN’S GOLF: Missouri qualified for the NCAA Central Regional to be held May 18-20 at the Sand Ridge Golf Club in Cleveland, Ohio. Monday’s announcement marks the second consecutive year the Tigers have qualified for regional competition. They are seeded 20th.
Twenty-seven teams qualify for each of three regionals, with the top 10 teams from each advancing to the NCAA Championships. Two individuals from each regional also advance. The championships will be held May 31-June 3 in Sunriver, Ore.
The Tigers tied for sixth place at last year’s regional in their first NCAA Championship appearance since 1986.
