A Columbia man was arrested on suspicion of weapon, assault and drug-related violations after a woman who said she was his girlfriend went to police early Sunday morning, according to Columbia Police Department reports.

Kendall William Straub, 19, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault, distribution or manufacture of controlled substances, possession or sale of prohibited weapons, second-degree property damage, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and transfer of concealable firearms without a permit. The arrest occurred at 1:14 a.m. Sunday at his apartment in the 2700 block of Quail Drive.

Police reports said an officer responded after the woman told police about the alleged activities. She came to the station to turn him in after the two were in a fight, she said.

Straub was released after posting bail.
