MU soccer team ends winning streak vs. Wisconsin-Milwaukee

The Missouri soccer team lost its first game of the year Sunday, falling 1-0 to the UW-Milwaukee Panthers at the Wisconsin Soccer Classic in Madison, Wisc. The Tigers, ranked No. 16 in the nation, dropped to 7-1. It was the first time that the Panthers (6-2-1) have defeated a ranked opponent since 1998. The next game for Missouri is Friday at home against Nebraska.

MU TENNIS: The doubles team of Amanda Pratzel and Erika Josbena won the doubles championship in the north bracket and Raquel Wagner won the Minnesota singles flight championship Sunday at the Gopher Invitational in Minneapolis. It is the second tournament win in two tries for Pratzel and Josbena, who are 8-0. The team competes again on Sept. 29 at the K-State Mock Duals in Manhattan, Kans.

MU MEN’S GOLF: The Tigers finished fourth Sunday at the Wolverine Intercollegiate in Ann Arbor, Mich. Sophomore Peter Malnati was fourth and senior John Kelly fifth. Malnati shot a two-under-par 211 over 54 holes and Kelly shot 212.

The Tigers compete again Sept. 22-23 at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate in Albuquerque, N.M.

MU WOMEN’S GOLF: Julia Potter lead Missouri to a 13th place finish Sunday at the Mason Rudolph Championships. Potter finished 42nd with a three-round total of 226. Ellen Hoeper and Chelsea Schriewer finished two shots behind Potter in a four-way tie for 46th place.

The Tigers compete again on Sept. 25-26 at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate in Denver.
