A donation is intended to help MU produce the next generation of art teachers.

The $100,000 gift creates the Dolores Fiebig Hoboy Art Education Endowed Fund, which will support art education in the College of Education’s department of learning, teaching and curriculum.

“This generous gift will provide invaluable resources for art education students, both undergraduate and graduate, and the MU community,” said Kathy Unrath, assistant professor of art education, in a release.

The gift was given by Paul Hoboy, Loren P. Hoboy, Karol Ann Hoboy-Tenore and Lance K. Hoboy at the request of the late Dolores Fiebig Hoboy. The donation was made to show appreciation for the education Fiebig Hoboy received at MU. She graduated in 1944 with a bachelor’s degree in education and a focus in art education.
