Look up for art

Behind the colorful awnings and elegant window displays of the shops and restaurants in downtown Columbia, more subtle beauty can be found. A collection of colors, shapes and textures in the narrow alleys come together to form an urban gallery. A tangled web of electrical wires, an endless grid of reflective metal stairs, a collage of stickers representing the rainbow and a green velvety mold on the surface of a drain pipe, are just a few of the things that make the alleys a display of art. All you have to do is look up.
